Unit description
Students in this unit are required to choose a topic relevant to Russian studies in consultation with a staff member of Russian Studies, they then conduct a literature search followed by research on the chosen topic under the guidance of a unit convenor.

Delivery and Resources
Students, enrolled in this unit, are required to:
- select a topic relevant to the Russian language or to some aspect of Russian culture,
- discuss it with a member of staff of the Russian Studies,
- conduct a literature search,
- independently research the topic,
- present their findings in the form of an essay.
It is expected that on completion of the unit students will have learnt to:
- conduct research independently,
- compile a bibliography,
- correctly use the necessary sources of information,
- structure their essays correctly
- present the findings of the research in a written document.
