Unit description Unit description
Students in this unit are required to choose a topic relevant to Russian studies in consultation with a staff member of Russian Studies, they then conduct a literature search followed by research on the chosen topic under the guidance of a unit convenor.

Delivery and Resources

Students, enrolled in this unit,  are required to:

  • select a topic relevant to the Russian language or to some aspect of Russian culture,
  • discuss it with a member of staff of the Russian Studies,
  • conduct a literature search,
  • independently research the topic,
  • present their findings in the form of an essay.

It is expected that on completion of the unit students will have learnt to:

  • conduct research independently, 
  • compile a bibliography,
  • correctly use the necessary sources of information,
  • structure their essays correctly
  • present the findings of the research in a written document.
