Unit description Unit description

This unit provides students with the opportunity to apply knowledge of politics, policy-making, social justice and social change gained in previous units. Students work collaboratively with a range of not-for-profit, government and commercial organisations involved in social change, social justice, politics and international relations from the local to the global level. Students are exposed to the challenges and opportunities that such organisations face in upholding their values and missions in the context of projects, and develop skills useful for working in political and social practice. This unit includes a social change placement stream. This stream includes activities outside campus. Activities for students other than in this stream are campus-based. This PACE unit is suitable for students majoring in Politics, International Relations, Philosophy, Political Economy and Social Policy, Australian Studies, Social Justice, Sociology, Global Health, and Media, Technology and the Law. Students willing to enroll in this unit should check the unit pre-requisites and contact the Arts PACE office (pace.arts@mq.edu.au) at least six weeks before the commencement of session.
