Unit description
This full-year unit requires students to conduct a small piece of original research under supervision, with a written report of around 10,000 words to be submitted. The topic will be negotiated with lecturers within the department and supervision of projects will be arranged with appropriate specialists in the subject area. Students enrolled in this unit may audit SPTH8810 lectures that are relevant to their project development. |

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:
- ULO1: Review and prioritise research tasks and regularly evaluate project time management to ensure timely completion of each section.
- ULO2: Select, evaluate, and critically review relevant literature, observing copyright and academic honesty regulations.
- ULO3: Integrate knowledge of research methodologies with a research question/hypothesis that is clinically relevant.
- ULO4: Carry out a research plan that is consistent with all relevant ethical, legislative, and legal requirements for speech pathology research.
- ULO5: Develop and maintain a supportive and collaborative network of relationships with other student researchers, research supervisors, and advisors.
