Unit description
In this unit, students work with an individual supervisor to formulate a project proposal which is presented to the class for critical review, and following any necessary amendments, a formal proposal is submitted. The topic chosen is intended to be related to clinical neuropsychology however the supervisor may be any member of staff in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or external to Macquarie (with co-supervision from a Psychology/Cognitive Science staff member). Students attend sessions relating to conducting a systematic review of literature. |

This is a hurdle assessment task (see assessment policy for more information on hurdle assessment tasks)
Present a twenty five minute talk to the class outlining the rationale, hypotheses and methods proposed for the research project
On successful completion you will be able to:
- Present and explain the rationale behind, and methodology used, in the initial proposal for the research project to the cohort.
- Effectively communicate research methodology
Submit research proposal
Assessment Type 1: Plan
Indicative Time on Task 2: 37 hours
Due: 20/11/20
Weighting: 50%
This is a hurdle assessment task (see assessment policy for more information on hurdle assessment tasks)
Submit an approximately 1500 word research proposal outlining the rationale, hypotheses and methods planned for the research project
On successful completion you will be able to:
- Present and explain the rationale behind, and methodology used, in the initial proposal for the research project to the cohort.
