This unit allows for general credit for relevant and approved postgraduate units studied at other tertiary institutions associated with the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS). |

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:

General Assessment Information
BIOL8720 is a shell unit that allows for general credit for relevant and approved postgraduate units studied at other tertiary institutions. It is part of the Masters of Marine Science and Management at Macquarie University. All unit choices must be approved by the BIOL8720 unit convenor and the analogous convenor from the external institute.
Students will learn the tools of conducting open, transparent science in an ethical way. The tasks are highly specific to each student and dependent on the unit taken in the external institution. The work must not be plagiarised.

You will successfully complete a unit of study at a partner University to Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS). Admission is contingent on the availability of places available in the external unit at the time of the request.

Delivery and Resources
This unit acts as a shell unit to allow relevant study at another institution. The requirements of the unit therefore vary and are directed by the Convenor of the external unit being undertaken. Please ensure that you identify yourself with the external Unit Convenor as soon as you are enrolled and that the external Convenor is aware that you are a cross-institutional student. The student must also contact the BIOL8720 Unit Convenor and arrange for a meeting early in the session. It is the student's responsibility to choose an external unit and to organise the enrolment into that unit within the appropriate time frame. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the BIOL8720 Unit Convenor received the results of all external assessments in a timely manner during the running of this unit.
