Unit description Unit description
This unit involves the conduct of supervised research relevant to the discipline of clinical neuropsychology, as proposed in PSYN8825. The research findings are submitted in the form of a 5,000-8,000 word journal article, evaluated by a Macquarie-based examiner and an external examiner.

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:

  • ULO1: Conduct an empirical research project which has direct relevance for clinical neuropsychology
  • ULO2: Apply data analysis techniques used in neuropsychological research
  • ULO3: Write an empirical paper in journal format suitable for publication in a psychology journal

Submission of a 5000-8000 word dissertation, formatted according to the guidelines in the APA Style Manual. This may take the form of a traditional empirical research project (most commonly), a study based on experimental single case design, a systematic review or meta-analysis, or a program evaluation study.


On successful completion you will be able to:
  • Conduct an empirical research project which has direct relevance for clinical neuropsychology
  • Apply data analysis techniques used in neuropsychological research
  • Write an empirical paper in journal format suitable for publication in a psychology journal

Delivery and Resources

Students must be supervised by at least one person with expertise in the research topic. If that supervisor is not a Macquarie academic staff member, a Macquarie academic must be appointed in addition as the primary (administrative) supervisor.
