Unit description
This unit introduces students to the specialised and burgeoning area of environmental law on both the national and international stage. It evaluates the effectiveness of current environmental law in the context of ongoing and emerging challenges. The unit adopts a multidisciplinary perspective to help augment understanding of the complexity of environmental challenges and enhance the analysis of relevant legislation and case law. |

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:
Unless a Special Consideration request has been submitted and approved,
(a) a penalty for lateness will apply – 10 marks out of 100 credit will be deducted per day for assignments submitted after the due date – and
(b) no assignment will be accepted seven days (incl. weekends) after the original submission deadline.
No late submissions will be accepted for timed assessments – e.g. quizzes, online tests.
Students should carefully check that they submit the correct file for an assessment as no resubmissions will be accepted after the due date and time, including instances where students upload an incorrect file in error.
Word limits will be strictly applied and work above the word limit will not be marked.
Footnotes are only to be used for referencing. Substantive material in footnotes will not be marked. All assessments in the unit are to be submitted electronically via Turnitin. Plagiarism detection software is used in this unit. All assessments must be appropriately referenced, applying the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (4th ed).
