Unit description
Collaborative construction is a process for project development where all parties in the Project team work together to plan, design, and execute construction projects. The aim of collaborative construction technology and innovation is to provide innovative solutions, enhance communication, streamline processes, and improve overall project outcomes. This Unit will address some of the current technology and innovation trends for effective collaboration in all stages of the construction project development, including, planning, designing, construction, operation, and sustainable solutions for end-of-life phases. Students will explore technologies and innovations in project management tools, collaboration platforms, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, Cloud Computing, Mobile Apps, and the Internet of Things. TEACHING ACTIVITIES
Workshops are 3 hours per week, in-person, and begin in Week 1.
