Unit description Unit description

In this unit, you will explore collaborative construction as an approach to planning, designing, and delivering construction projects with integrated project teams. You will examine how collaborative construction technologies and innovations support improved communication, streamlined processes, and enhanced project outcomes across all phases of project development, including planning, design, construction, operation, and end‑of‑life considerations.

You will investigate current and emerging technologies that enable collaboration in construction, including project management tools, collaboration platforms, Building Information Modelling (BIM), virtual and augmented reality, cloud computing, mobile applications, and the Internet of Things. Through this exploration, you will develop an understanding of how these technologies can be applied to improve coordination, innovation, and performance in construction practice.

REQUIREMENTS TO PASS THIS UNIT

To pass this unit you must achieve a total mark equal to or greater than 50%.

 

LATE ASSESSMENT SUBMISSION 

Late assessments are not accepted in this unit unless a Special Consideration has been submitted and approved.

Short Extensions

Students are allowed to request an extra 3 calendar days to complete eligible assessments. The only eligible assessment in this unit is the Portfolio.

Workshops are 3 hours per week, in-person, and begin in Week 1.
