Unit description
By conducting individual action research projects, students will be guided to explore translation and interpreting related areas from multiple perspectives and to conduct systematic inquiry of their own translation or interpreting practice. Students will be required to identify problems they have experienced in skill development, gather and analyse data, design a plan of action and implement the plan for the sake of improving their skills (sense, read, match, act). Students will conduct a reflective individual action research project, based on critical readings, classroom and/or online discussions, and feedback from lecturers.

Students are required to review and extend the literature review that they completed for their final assessment in TRAN908. The revised literature review will be prepared as the final version to be presented in the research report (Assignment 2). In addition, an annotated bibliography, general and specific, of 10 new references that are directly relevant to their research project must be included. (3000 words).

The final paper should be approximately 5,000 words and should include the literature review, the methodology, results, discussion and conclusions, as well as the implications and recommendations of the study.
