Unit description Unit description

ARTS3000 is a unit in the Bachelor of Arts PACE option set. In this unit students will have the opportunity to apply their discipline-specific knowledge from anthropology, cultural studies, indigenous studies, gender studies, philosophy and/or sociology to a short real world activity. Activities might include community outreach, advocacy, research or other consultancy work, for a range of university, corporate, government or not-for-profit organisations. Students will bring to the workplace a sensitivity to and appreciation of the complexity of the humanities and social sciences, while making a positive contribution to an organisation and/or community. The placement will be supported by online workshops and self directed online modules and discussion forums. Through these, students will be prompted to connect theory to practice, reflect on skill and knowledge development, road-test possible careers and set goals for the future.
