Session 2 Learning and Teaching Update
The decision has been made to conduct study online for the remainder of Session 2 for all units WITHOUT mandatory on-campus learning activities. Exams for Session 2 will also be online where possible to do so.
This is due to the extension of the lockdown orders and to provide certainty around arrangements for the remainder of Session 2. We hope to return to campus beyond Session 2 as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Some classes/teaching activities cannot be moved online and must be taught on campus. You should already know if you are in one of these classes/teaching activities and your unit convenor will provide you with more information via iLearn. If you want to confirm, see the list of units with mandatory on-campus classes/teaching activities.

Unit description
This unit develops financial literacy, enabling students to understand what is needed to achieve a lifestyle that is financially sustainable, ethical and responsible. On completion of the unit, students will be able to set financial goals, establish a working budget, understand and distinguish between different investment instruments, and have the knowledge and skills to make informed and effective personal financial decisions. |

This unit is delivered entirely online. There are no face to face classes or lectures. All assessment is undertaken online.
You study at your own pace. There are regular assessment deliverables (with prescribed dates and times) and these must be taken into account when preparing a study plan.
The unit has extensive materials available on iLearn including pre recorded videos, topic overviews and topic presentations.
It is important that you have access to reliable internet.
The prescribed text book is: Focus on Personal Finance - Kapoor et al - Fifth edition - McGraw Hill.
Other editions of this text book can be used (the Chapter numbers may differ).
Please note that the Unit Topics refer to selected Chapters in the text - Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 and Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 and Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 and Chapter 14.
