Unit description
This unit consists of one or more supervised placements in one or more professional psychology workplaces. It gives students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills developed in the Program to real-word, professional practice situations and thereby prepare for the 6th and final year of training and, in turn, registration and future, independent, professional practice.

This is a hurdle assessment task (see assessment policy for more information on hurdle assessment tasks)
The mid placement review, worth 50%, need to be completed and uploaded with the course lecturer and /or Placement Coordinator.
A mid placement review is required after completion of approximately half of the placement hours (i.e. 125 hours).
Log books are also required to be maintained throughout practica, signed and uploaded or sent to the appropriate email address.
Supervision agreement is to be completed by the supervisor and student, and completed online or submitted by email to the Placement Coordinator for approval before commencing placement.
Progress should be demonstrated towards the total of 300 hours of placement, including 50 hours of supervision are required to be documented within these mid-placement and end-placement reviews. Participation within the unit of 50 hours of group supervision and live skills assessments with approximately 8 hours of individual supervision provided per student, and 2 x 1 hour reflection tasks per session.

An end placement review is required at the end of session 1 or 2 depending on placement completion dates.

Student evaluations and final documentation must be submitted to the Placement Coordinator for final approval.
300 hours of placement including 50 hours of supervision are required to be documented within the end-placement review. This unit is comprised of placement and supervision
Placement: 250 hours of field placement
Supervision: A minimum of 20 x 1 hour supervision sessions, at a ratio of one hour for each day of field placement
25 hours of small group supervision and live skills assessments across the program
If more than one of these workshops per unit is missed, then the student is at risk of being excluded and university rules may apply.
